Cotswold Stone Barn Conversion | Pentire Construction
Soho Barn - Cotswold Stone Barn Conversion
This project started with an empty Cotswold stone barn with a tin roof and little more than a tractor inside.
Our job was to transform it into a spacious four-bedroom, three-bathroom home while retaining the character of the original building.
We built a large single-storey Cotswold stone extension and introduced a mezzanine floor overlooking a generous atrium, making the most of the height and proportions of the original barn. Period-style Cotswold casement windows were added to sit naturally alongside the existing stonework.
Behind the traditional exterior, the finished home is very modern. Full home automation allows the owners to control the house from their phones, including an integrated lighting system designed to highlight the exposed Cotswold stone walls in different colours.
The result is a high-specification barn conversion that brings together traditional Cotswold materials and character with the comfort and technology of a modern family home.
